NEW APPROVED CLUBHOUSE PLANS

The Lorne Aquatic and Angling Club committee is very pleased to announce that plans for our new LAAC clubhouse and outdoor area have been agreed with GORCAPA, and these plans are available for viewing. Click here to view now.

The redevelopment subcommittee has been working closely with GORCAPA and the architects for the Point Grey precinct, NMBW, over the last few months and this collaboration has led to a set of plans that we are very happy with. The new building design meets all of the specifications we were seeking and importantly, maintains many of the loved characteristics of our existing clubhouse. Key features are:

  • A larger clubroom with reverse cycle air conditioning
  • New and larger toilet facilities
  • A modern bar serving both inside and outside
  • A kitchen to assist with catering
  • An outdoor deck with retractable roof and walls, including heating
  • A new BBQ area
  • A fenced-off outdoor area of the same size as our current space

Additionally, we have been successful in retaining a boat wash, to be located near the
Co-op building, and a fish cleaning station at the southern end of the clubrooms.

Redevelopment of the Point Grey precinct is scheduled to begin in January with completion planned for around the middle of 2026.
